Welcome to Multidisciplinary Studies

Welcome to the Multidisciplinary Studies program at West Virginia University. I hope that you are considering joining our program. Over the past six years we have seen MDS double its enrollment. Each year approximately three hundred students choose to adopt our flexible curriculum as the pathway to post-graduate success. Upon graduation our students attend professional and graduate school, pursue employment with government or corporate America, and build their own business ventures. I am proud of the success our graduates have enjoyed, and look forward to ensuring that our students continue to flourish as they transition to life as West Virginia University graduates.

The MDS faculty shares a strong commitment to interdisciplinary studies and scholarship. Our faculty holds advanced degrees in English, Political Science, History, and Education—disciplines which compliment their expertise in interdisciplinary theory. In addition to their academic pursuits, the MDS faculty members take pride in providing consistent and accurate academic advising. As you will discover, we work hard to build personal relationships with our students—we want to help you achieve your academic goals. If you are searching for a flexible and student-centered path to academic success, I enthusiastically invite you to explore the contents of this site for more information on our program.

We look forward to meeting you.
