Dr. De Sousa-Brown earned both her Masters and Ph.D. from WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design, after spending years working in Africa and in Rome, Italy for Food and Agriculture Organization, UN.  Both her MS Thesis and Ph.D. Dissertation as well as her other research papers centered around development-related issues, like income inequality, high school dropouts, human capital, small businesses and entrepreneurship and economic growth of West Virginia.  Dr. De Sousa-Brown has more than 15 years of experience in Higher Education, advising, teaching and mentoring diverse student populations, where 8 of these years have been in International Education (Study Abroad).  She serves on the Board of Directors for the Council for International Programs. She enjoys cooking, sewing, outdoor activities, meeting new people and learning about new languages and cultures.
